in addition to being my last day of work, today was 'piss everyone off with my driving' day.

well, first, work was an ok day, got off early, got 25$ extra for doing my job yesterday, turned in my access badge. then i was excited that work was over forever and i was zipping out of the parking garage at like 40mph (wise). some dumb whore decided to try to roll out of the parking garage going the wrong way and pull out right in front of me. so i had to slam on my (non-antilock) brakes and skid for about 6 seconds before coming to a stop, all the while this dumb woman had a stupid look on her face like 'i have no idea whats going on because im an idiot.' so when i finally got stopped like 2 feet from her car, she backed up so i could get out and i gave her a loud sarcastic "sorry" as i drove by. obviously not sorry that i was going 40 in a parking garage, sorry that you decided to pull out in front of me going the wrong way. (of course none of this was my fault)

then all of the stoplights were out in my town so traffic was backed up everywhere. the roads were a little slick from rain so i decided to zip around a turn and slide the back end of my car sideways to entertain myself. horrified looks from the driver behind me. then i did it again and got more horrified looks.

anyway, work is done and it makes me smile. sociology is done and it makes me smile. florida is tomorrow and it makes me smile. fun with friends tonight and it makes me smile.

several noteworthy things that made me hate life less happened today. actually a pretty darn good day.

nothing noteworthy occurred at work, i wasted my life basically. but after that i hit up college house at church before cookout and helped andre'' carry some waters. i couldnt count stoplights so i missed my turn and drove around for a while because i'm an idiot.

when i finally got to the cookout i enjoyed some food and festivities. played some bocce ball and conquered in frisbee golf. chatted for a while then enjoyed a fire. then my beloved friend carol called and i had a fantastic conversation with her. twill be glorious to be back at school with the whole crew and a whole new set of antics.

in the middle of my carol conversation, elijah, a friend by association of my high school bud sammy, randomly showed up at the cookout. elijah told me wonderful things about my old friend sam. evidently he has gotten his life on track and is travelling the straight and narrow. he got saved/rededicated his life about a year ago and he's been discipling under a pastor in seattle. elijah said that he's been traveling around teaching the bible and giving his testimony. these are amazing and unexpected things that made me quite happy.

speaking of happy... fishing trip this friday night. dont know where yet, but it should be a good time. life (outside work) is glorious.

besides work, it's all good

thursday: a fantastic evening at casey's house on the lake. we enjoyed some swimming in the clean water. we enjoyed some seadoo riding. we enjoyed some fishing. we enjoyed some high-speed tubing. we enjoyed some hamburgers. we enjoyed a fine fire. glorious times.

friday: cookout/bonfire/surprise birthday party at trixy's house. more fun times. i got eaten up by mosquitos. we had to push trixy's golf cart up a 149835897256 mile long hill because the battery kinda died at the bottom. everyone but loomis and i got involved in a ridiculous shaving cream fight. we enjoyed the fire instead. WHOO i love a good fire.

saturday: two, count em', TWO weddings. amber brown married mark leonard. johnny chiang married elisabeth conrad. two lovely weddings. i left the house at 1245pm or so wearing a suit and tie. it was 95 degrees out. i returned home at 130am (i think) wearing the same suit and tie. after the weddings, several of us hit up the levee to see batman begins. it was a very long and hot day.

anyways, it was a good weekend. i just wish that i didnt have to go to work tomorrow. i have a plan to keep myself pseudo-occupied for a while. i'm going to do some VB programming and make a program to automate some tasks. see, the problem is that in like 7 weeks, i'm going to have to train a replacement for myself. if i have spent most of my time programming and other skill required tasks, i'm going to have nothing to train my replacement on. i will certainly have to get on my boss to find me some repetitive work to do. but either way, i should be able to at least look busy with visual basic code up on my screen.

yesterday, when i told lisa that i was going to go outside to skate, she told me to hurt myself. i did, just because she asked me to. i fell on my head/whole left side of my body. i scraped my forehead, shoulder, elbow, palm, hip, knee, and ankle. thanks a lot, lisa.

today was my first day of work. i sat with a guy and watched what he did because i might be doing it later. we were talking about the database and a query that he was trying to run on it but it was taking too much time/resources. so i suggested a better way to do it and he got really excited. thats really the only contribution i made to infidelity today, though.

well today i had my first skatepark experience. i went with paul and he met up with his friend carl. so i started out just piddling around, then i tried to go down/up ramps and stuff. then i made some skater friends. they were all about 5-10 years younger than me, of course. i fell several times and hurt myself. all in all, a good experience. all of the cool skater kids liked my skateboard and one commented on how much he liked my free shoes.

we went to applebees this evening. always good times and fantastic wings.

then i went to steal internet, but i guess i messed up the place that i usually steal from, so i had to steal from another house on a different street. when i finally found a suitable spot to steal, i noticed a fellow turn his light on in his room that he was watching tv in. then i saw his shadow pressed up against the window screen, he was all sneaky spying on me. i obviously didnt care and just stole his internet. then he got clever and turned his light off and continued spying on me. a few minutes later, as i was leaving, i saw that he had left his room and was standing on his stairs looking out of the window on top of his front door. the stairway lights were on so i could see him clearly through his window. this was by far the biggest staredown i have ever received. it probably lasted an entire 10 minutes or so. what a putz. loomis and i agreed that he must have been watching porn on his tv, since it was 1:30am at the time. i should firebomb his house because he was such an idiot.

yesterday my sister and i went to work with father for a bit. the sky was a bit dark and it looked a little like rain. we were transferring kitchen cabinets from one garage into another garage down the street. we had one left to carry over. there had been a few lightning strikes here and there but nothing too bad. we went down the street to carry the last cabinet and slowly big raindrops started falling. then we heard some wind in the trees behind us. insane wind. like lots of wind. like scary almost tornado wind. we ran to the garage because debris was going crazy all over the place. we were getting sandblasted in the face with rocks and sand and dirt because it was ridiculously windy. we didnt know where sister was so father went back to the other house after the debris died down a bit. the wind was still insane, it almost tipped my father's hauling trailer over, it was up on two wheels. the rain started falling like woah. torrential downpour crap. river flowing down the street and all. crazy lightning everywhere, one struck like right outside where i was standing. then it started hailing for a bit. there was so much water/wind that a big office trailer fell down on one side as i watched. all the jack stands and blocks got knocked out from under the one side and it collapsed. a big tree got blown down across the road right outside the subdivision where we were working. so i chilled inside the garage with the bricklayers. it was probably the biggest/craziest storm i've experienced lately.

yesterday evening i went to applebees with the lovely amber brown. we enjoyed wings and cake/ice cream thing. paul joined us later.

today i worked more with father and mother. i hung/planed/rehung doors all day and got frustrated with it. perhaps some tennis tonight...

well virginia was good but there were no waves so no surfing and i was sad about that. but we did chillax on the beach a couple of days. i got sunburned. lots on my nose and some on my back.

we first tried to return to home on thursday but the plane wasnt even close. so sarah and i waited in the airport for like 4 hours and went back to pauls.

on friday we went to the beach but then when we were supposed to get to the airport, there was traffic everywhere and it took us forever. sarah and i had to sprint through the airport without any shoes or belt on (because i had to take them off for security) and we made it on the plane luckily. our gate was the farthest one from anything so we had to run a long way. we probably looked dumb. i always laugh at the airport sprinters and now i had to be one.

we finally made it home and i went out with loomis/casey/adrienne to see will ferrell in kicking and screaming. he had some fantastic lines, as always. on saturday i did some more yard work with mother and sister. we cut branches from our trees in the driveway. a bunch of the branches had invisible knives covering them. more like thorns, but i got like 2598475 in my hand, one straight through my flipflop into my foot, and various other lacerations over my arms and face. stupid tree.

today was church, thats about all i can say about that.

by the way, online sociology is gay.

slept in until 1230 today because travel = tired brian. drove mother and sister around running errands then sister said she wanted to visit paul and go to the beach. so obviously i'm taking the third vacation of the summer. we leave tomorrow night and go surfing/beaching all day wednesday and thursday and come back thursday night.

but since i'll be gone i had to do stupid online class crap tonight. ugh it will be tedious finishing this class.

tomorrow i'm supposed to wake up early and clean up the back yard a bit and then work with father all day before sarah and i leave. yay for brothers living at virginia beach. i hope the weather doesnt suck.

so i randomly decided to visit lisa this weekend. decided on friday, left a few hours later. it has been quite an enjoyable weekend.

right now i'm in gainesville regional airport trying to get home. the airport is about 85 degrees. im trying to get to atlanta but there is apparently ridiculous weather so everything is delayed. the first flight i'm listed on i probably wont get on but its supposed to leave at 730pm. if it does and i get on it, i will have about 36 minutes to get off the plane, get across the wide expanse of the atlanta airport, and get on the flight to cincinnati. otherwise, i will be stuck in atlanta until 11pm at the earliest. if i dont get on that flight, i'll be stuck in atlanta all night or something fun like that. whatever, i guess something will work out. perhaps i will call lisa if i dont get on and we can study for operating systems together.

someone in this boiling hot airport smells like poop.

UPDATE: i got on the first plane and made the connection easily. everything worked out well... perhaps too well. i need some orange juice.

so this week has been ok.

kentucky mountain mission was quite enjoyable. tons of hard work. waking up early. good food. good peeps to work with and all. there were a couple of other groups working at the same time we were there so a lot of work was accomplished. our team framed all of the interior walls on the second and third floors. the maid stole my towel so i stole one from the camp but it wasnt as nice as mine.

i worked with mother and then father today. with mother i scraped and sanded walls in prep for painting. with father i mixed and poured cement. then it started raining suddenly and we ran out of cement. we went to pick up more cement but the highway was shut down because of a 6 car pile up or something so florence was completely gridlocked. everyone was angry so i chuckled. i smashed my fingernail and it still hurts.

i did a little skateboarding in the subdivision behind my house tonight. it felt good and made my legs tired.

tonight we watched finding neverland with jonathan depp, a beautiful man. i enjoyed the movie thoroughly and thought it was quite well done. the rest of the fam was not as impressed.

i finished reading bill browns book today and finished half of the first narnia book. then my sister stole it back and made me sad.

i need a shower but i dont want to take one.

i guess it is summertime. perhaps time to start updating the ol' livejournal once again. it probably doesnt matter since only about 3 people will ever see it.

after school got out, darren, chuckles, justin and i headed down to south carolina for a week. we stayed with darrens fantastic uncle don vito and aunt. lots of beach fun and big cousins. don delouise was one of those fantastic guys that you can never get enough of. ex-special forces/harley guy/all around straight shooter. great stories. to be honest with you, i had a crush on him. i wish i had gotten a picture.

after a week on the beach, i came back home and spent a week on my butt. well not really, i helped father for a couple of days.

tomorrow morning early, i am going with father and a work group from church to the rugged mountains of kentucky. we are going to be framing an office/lodge building at kentucky mountain mission. should be a good time. oooo, i need to bring my fishing pole in case there is a fishing hole. i'll be there monday morning until wednesday night.

i need to get reading more agressively this summer. so far, after tonight, i will have read bill brown's 'where have all the dreamers gone' and the book of genesis. more, i must read more. oo, heres a thought, i think i shall begin the chronicles of narnia this week.

so sunday we woke up and i guess seth got pretty badly burned when we fell asleep next to the pool. he stood up and got sick and threw up. we said it was sun sickness but it was probably the 127 beers we drank.

we went to nickums grandparents church. it was a real conservative baptist church and i was loving life. the one guy told everyone that the "cedarville group" was going to be singing a special number but he didnt really present it as a joke very well so everyone believed him and people were asking us why we didnt sing afterwards. funny stuff.

after church we went to nickums grandparents for lunch and it was a really nice house and the food was amazing. i fixed their computer.

after lunch we went to the beach and met up with chuckles and the gang. we did a little skim boarding and biffle and chuckles raped their knees. fun times. we played some frisbee and then there were some drums and people dancing and a bunch of people in a circle around them and it was ridiculous.

after the beach party we went back to the pool/hot tub but there was some dirty man with some chick he was trying to bang in our hot tub. we swam for a while but then we wanted to reclaim the tub so nickum and turtle went and got in the hot tub with them and they promptly got out. good times. so we soaked for a while.

after our soak we went to cici's pizza buffet for dinner. after dinner we were real party animals once again and came back at about 930 and everyone crawled into bed except me. i went outside and updated journals and sent videos/pictures to holly. but then the season premiere of viva la bam was starting then i lost this journal so i went inside and rewrote it as i watched viva.

springer break!

mmmm.. spring break. i'm stealing more wireless internet outside in the nice weather.

so heres whats happened in your world tonight.

on friday ben, brett, darren, seth and i piled into brett's mom's bmw. we left at about 330. we got to my house at around 5 and mother had some tasty dinner readied up for us. the car was completely packed full, but of course my loving mother had 4 bags of snacks all packed up for the trip. boredom busters she called them. what a gal... so we repacked some stuff to fit it all in.

we left and started traveling through kentucky and all was going well until we hit the big traffic jam up on 75 because they were working on it. we were stuck in south ky for over an hour in this traffic. when we hit it, i got out of the car and did a few stretches right in the middle of the highway for everyone. took a few pictures of riduclous people and then made a powerpoint slide that said SHOW US YOUR TITTIES really big on it. one big rig driver looked down and i turned it towards him and he was cracking up. he was loving life. then i showed two fat guys in the car next to us and they flashed us a little skin. SWEET!

so we finally got out of the traffic jam and started down the "detour" which was some rinky dink backwoods tennessee road. it was all good though. we passed the time a bit by watching episodes of 24 season 1. we switched drivers in georgia and i fell asleep. turtle took us pretty much through georgia then i woke up and we hit florida. it was a long drive but it wasnt as bad as i was expecting. good company makes all the difference.

we got to the condo at around 1000am or so and unpacked and then hit the beach. we chilled there for a while and explored a bit and soaked up some sun. after we were done skim boarding and such activities, we came back to the condo and swam in the pool a bit and enjoyed a glorious hot tub. then we went and laid out by the pool and all 5 of us fell asleep. we wouldve been burnt worse if bens sister, who is staying at the condo with us, hadnt come out and woken us up. we all got a bit pink around the edges, but seth got burned pretty badly. we were real party animals and went to bed around 930.

wow! some really wise decisions have been made this week. i had a few exams, a few projects, and that sort of thing. ive put everything off of course. i took a nap from dinner til like 1215, then got up and started my new testament project. i thought everything was going well but then i re-read the instructions and realized that it was a lot of work. i instantly got incredibly discouraged. i complained to amber mack as i worked. finally i got some strength from above and got through it. now its 520 in the AM and i am really pleased about the amount of sleep i've had. oh well, i guess i only have FOUR LONG CLASSES TODAY.

but whatever, 7 days until spring break. suck it ohio.

i hate all-nighters, they always make me feel so lonely.

good news though, today is thrift store day after classes. on a related note, after classes, its the weekend.
